The most significant change is the addition of a three-bar coda at the end of the final piece. This results in a much livelier and more effective ending than that of the piano version.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnfortunately, we do not know who the original version was composed for, nor what prompted Swain to create the string quartet version.\u003cbr\u003eNevertheless, it is wonderful to have a piece with this rare and interesting instrumentation.
